Barcelona: J. Verdaguer, 1861; 528 pp. 2nd ed., 1889, 558 pp. 3rd ed., ed. C. Martínez and F. R[ico] Manrique, Obras de M. M. y F., II (Barcelona: CSIC, 1966), 503 pp.
Snow 1977, no. 28: "On pp. 179-218 (3rd ed.) is a lengthy study of Provençal-Catalan poets who paid public (written) homage to Alfonso in their compositions, some alluding to his poetic court with much appreciation. Milá includes Guiraut Riquier's Declaratio, a poetical work which is supposed to reflect Alfonso's own thought on classes of poets and poetry. The CSM are taken up - with metrics in mind - on pp. 464-8. Brief recognition is given to Alfonso as musician (p. 496)."rn
