Snow 2007: "A full study of the comparisons and contrasts of thee texts of the CSM and the miniatures prepared for them in Ms. T.I.1 of the Escorial library. Many divergences between the text and miniatures are uncovered: there are added visual details, chronological sequences re-ordered owing to, perhaps, other known accounts of a particular miragre, or to personal aesthetic considerations, and so on. The commentary is capped in a final chapter of analysis of four versions each of two distinct narratives — all eight of which are contained in this Ms." |
