Title: Miniature spagnuole in un codice fiorentino
Date: 1919
Publication details: Rassegna d'Arte Antica e Moderna 6 (1919), 149-55.
Snow ID:
Commentary: Notes from Snow 1977, no. 98 "An attempt to determine which of three proposed artistic schools weighs most heavily in the produetion of the CSM miniatures: the Italian school, proposed by Amador (1863); the French, proposed by Valmar (1889); or the local schools, proposed by Durrieu (1893). No definitive conclusions are reached but the inclination is towards some more local, Iberian, schools with a touch of Italianate influence. Artwork commented is from the illuminations of F 88 and 74 (corresponding to cantigas 228 and 278 in Mettmann). Also reproduced is T.j.1 130 so that similarities may be pointed out (remembering that F and T.j.1. are complementary MSS)."
