Notes from Snow 1977, no. 190: "A satisfying and near exhaustive study of the earliest Romance outlines of the character made famous by Fernando de Rojas. The two CSM which have celestinesque types are 64 and 312, especially well delineated in the latter; treated not as sources of Rojas's creation but as earlier manifestations of a generic type. Since written sources seem lacking, much is made of local, folkloric realism in the creation of Alfonso's protagonists." |
