Notes from Snow 1977, no. 247rn"CSM 212 provides the model for the use of the verb garpir, previously misunderstood in what had been thought of as its unique appearance in Old Spanish, in the Libro de los engaƱos. It appears in the CSM six times and once more as a noun, so was obviously more widespread in Galician-Portuguese than in Castilian. To these, Mettmann later adds two additional occurrences of the verb in the CSM (in vol. IV of his edition [see 1959])." |
