Snow 2007: "Amador writes in a polemic style, defending against those who claimed that versos de arte mayor come late in Spain, showing that in the CSM Alfonso was already in the Peninsular vanguard in terms not only of hendecasyllabic verse, but of mixed masculine and feminine rhymes and polymetrical composition. Much of what is already in the CSM is passed on to Juan Manuel and to the Archpriest of Hita. The curious note is struck when Amador finds that Alfonso's use of meters and verse justifies the claim of some — to include his own — that Alfonso was the legitimate author of the spurious Querellas." |
