Snow 1977, no. 44: "De L. disputes the claims of Braga (1878) that the poems of CV, 61-79, belong to Alfonso IX (d. 1229). With an arsenal of logic, he reconstructs the events and personages alluded to, and convincingly demonstrates (as none before had bothered to do) the authorship of these poems, as well as those of CB 467-96, to be that of Alfonso X. Alfonso VIII is also eliminated as a prospective author. This is the study that first established these data and the scholarship involved is first rate." |
