Snow 1977, no. 45: "Chapter 8, on the "CSM, attributed to the King Don Alonso el Sabio", surveys work leading up to the 1889 edition. It tells us that the well known musicologist, Barbieri, was transcribing the music for the Academy, a fact made more interesting when one ponders the inspiration provided for Ribera (1921, 1922) by this same Barbieri. Has some musical illustrations." |
