Snow 1977, no. 67: "An offprint from vol. 5 of the Verhandlungen des Deutschen Wissenschaftlichen Vereines zu Santiago which I have not seen. Pages 1-22 treat Alfonso, the rest Berceo. The survey of the CSM deals with iambs, trochees, anapests, dactyls, both masculine and feminine endings, long and short lines, and types of verse and metrical combinations. The conclusion is that Alfonso is closer to Latin hymnody than to traditional Spanish prosodic patterns." |
