Snow 1977, no. 71 bis: "This is a useful first step but more work along these lines could be done. Two documents are reproduced which attest to Alfonso's borrowing of books for use in his scriptorium. P. de G. estimates Alfonso may have had as many as 150 vols and took great pride in producing the books that he was lacking, and in the creation of new works. Attributed to Alfonso are the Querellas, the Libro del tesoro, the Cantigas and the mysteriously titled Decires (the cantigas profanas?)." |
