Its interest lies in Alfonso's supposed Querellas ("Yo salí de la mi tierra") which purportedly lament the rebellion of his son Sancho. Alfonso's tragic end is summed up in the famed statement attributed to him (assumed here as authentic): "De tanto mirar el cielo / se le cayó la corona"." |
