Snow 2007: "A double review of Ribera's work [1922, 1924] on the music of the CSM. It is highly critical of R.'s theoretical base, of his approach ("irregular") to the transcriptions, and of the conclusions reached. The fact is that one can affirm the presence of Arabic musicians at Alfonso's court and posit the impact of some of the poetic forms used by the Arabs, but that nothing can be affirmed regarding the influence of Arabic music on the music of the CSM." |
