Snow 1977, no. 140rn"The MS miniaturists are accorded high praise for the integration into the CSM of the broad canvas of contemporary Spanish society and are perceived to have been trained in the French manner, although with a few Italian traits. These artists were, unfortunately, anonymous. The coverage here is solid despite the lack of room for detail. The plates are not of good quality (there are representatives from all three of the MSS that have miniatures: J.b.2 and T.j.1, both of the Escurial, and the one housed at the Biblioteca Nazionale in Florence)." |
