Snow 1977, no. 166: "We are reminded that not only are many of Alfonso's CSM direct descendants of the western rondeau form but previously the form had appeared in two poems by Pero da Ponte. The characteristic internal refrain is also seen in many other cancioneiro selections with one of several variations, indicating that Alfonso may himself have had quite an ample supply of models on which to fashion his own rondeau like compositions."
