Snow 2007: "Coverage is of the years 1874-1899 and there are abundant references to the CSM ed. Valmar prepared for the Royal Academy [1889]. Apparently Menéndez Pelayo supplied Valmar with much help in the preparation of the glossary, read some proofs — and offered suggestions — for the several parts of V.'s long introductory study, and was literally implored by V. to review the two volumes, which he did [1895]. This is a fascinating glimpse into V.'s long association with the CSM project, including complaints about the price of the work and its slow sales." |
