Commentary: Snow 2007: "The artists of the CSM were Spanish, they aimed at realism and worked under strong French influence (for a less enthusiastic view of French influence, see A. Domínguez [1976]). Text has some mis-information (Alfonso's will dated in 1286, two years after his death), and relies on information found in Guerrero Lovillo [1949]. The study is accompanied by three full-page black and white reproductions of miniatures for CSM 186, 35, and 126."
