Snow 2007rn"A companion volume to the author's earlier study [1977]. it contains an anthology of Provençal poems which feature Spain and Portugal from approximately 1100 to the end of the thirteenth century, all of which are mentioned in the 1977 study. The poems are arranged by author's name, in alphabetical order, and a complete text is printed only when the complete text is relevant. There are many here which delineate Alfonso's fame among the troubadours and a few others which give a clear picture of his admiraction for the Provençal manner of song-composition. There is a good bibliography of sources consulted, and a useful Index for the 1977 companion volume." |
