See also H.L.D. Ward, Catalogue of Romances in the Department of Manuscripts in the British Museum, Vol. II (London: British Museum, 1893), 728-734.rnrnFrom Kjellman's introduction: This is a translation from Latin of MS Oxford Balliol 240 (Dominic of Evesham). There are 60 miracles divided into three books (14 – 17 – [27+2]). The scribe points out on several occasions that he is just translating a Latin book which must be – as Mussafia has identified – Balliol 240: the content is almost identical, although the last three in the Royal MS are missing from the Oxford MS; and 2 miracles in the French collection (1.8 and 1.14) are not in the Latin, the second of which replaces the final miracle in the first book of the Latin MS. Introduction contains lengthy analysis of MS’s relationship with other contemporary collections, and then miracle-by-miracle notes on sources, parallel texts, and origins. Notes coincidence with Toulouse MS 482. Text for each miracle is prefaced by the Latin original. Appendix prints parallel texts from two French MSS.rnrnARLIMA bookmark: /mss/united_kingdom/london/british_library/royal/20_B_XIV.html | ||
