Snow 2007: "On CSM 4 (lines 92-93 in Mettmann's ed.). Through a search of analogues of the tale, it seems that 'cobrir' is probably an intransitive verb, 'to wear' (Mettmann lists it as transitive). The miniatures confirm what the text leaves unclear: that it was the cloak Mary was wearing that saves the protagonists from the flames. A clever use of the miniatures to clarify the verbal text." |
