Notes from Snow 1977: "A small portion of the address (published 32 years after delivery) is relevant to the CSM but it is provocative: the 74 consonant lines (no refrain) of cantiga 420 are akin to the epic laisse. Other cantigas with reminiscences of epic song are 5, 369 (in cuaderna vía), 95, 63, 181, and 205 (not 155, as is printed), especially in their conformity to metrical requirements." |
