Author: Moreno Galván, José M.
Title: Cantigas de Alfonso X, el Sabio
Date: 1969
Publication details: Col. Gráficos Españoles, 3. Madrid: Ricardo Aguilera, 1969.
Snow ID: 335
Commentary: Notes from Snow 1977: "In very large format (several times actual size), here are 10 colour plates, based on Escurial MS T.j.l, corresponding to CSM 1, 25, 28, 33, 35, 56, 63, 108, 144, and 183. A brief text by M.G. repeats the absurd claim of Soriano Fuertes (1855) that the music is in "notación rabínica". There is, however, much more sense in M.G.'s claim that the tectonic and linear art of the Alfonsine miniatures, produced probably by a team of artists, has no peer in its era."
