Commentary: Snow 1977, no. 14: "Although, as in Pellicer and others, the Querellas are still considered Alfonsine, the Alexandre is not. Comments on the three codexes are the result of first hand inspection and are accompanied by cantigas 410 and 411, both prologues, 2 and 401 in fairly respectable transcriptions (no punctuation is provided, however). An attempt is made to classify lines according to length: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 16 syllables. R. de C. regrets that Alfonso's non Marian poems are lost but does, at least, recognize that Alfonso indeed wrote profane poems."
Associated Poems: 2 - Hildefonsus of Toledo
401 - Petiçon
410 - Prologue to the Songs of the Feasts of the Virgin
411 - The Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin (8 September)
428 - Title (Prologue A)
