Setting: the Church of St Victor, Paris Protagonist(s): an archdeacon

An archdeacon delighted in composing songs in honour of the Virgin.

He had almost completed a hymn, but was lacking a single rhyme.

He went to the altar and prayed to the Virgin to come to his aid.

While he was praying, he thought of the words “Nobile triclinium.” No others fit the song so well.

He was overjoyed and finished the hymn.

A short time later, the statue leaned towards him and thanked him. This miracle was performed in Paris in the Church of St Victor. As proof of the event, the statue leans forward to this day.
