A farmer, Matthew, was threshing millet in Armenteira. A knight, who had quarrelled with Matthew’s lord, attacked him.

The lances could not pierce him.

When struck by a javelin, he remained unharmed.

His attackers acknowledged the miracle, begged his pardon and repented.

The farmer went on pilgrimage to Rocamadour.
