Author: Keller, John Esten
Title: A Feasible Source of the Denouements of the Exemplos in El Conde Lucanor
Date: 1975
Publication details: American Notes & Queries, XIV, no. 3 (Nov. 1975), 34-7.rnrn
Snow ID: 371
Commentary: Snow 1977rn"K. advances the thought that the format of the prose versions of the early cantigas (2-25) of the Escurial MS J.b.2 of the CSM could have been a model for Don Juan Manuel's arrangement of the materials in the individual tales in El Conde Lucanor. K. too easily accepts that Alfonso is responsible for these prose accounts but, even so, he points out enough parallels to warrant further study of this possible literary contact between uncle and nephew."
