Setting: near Vilasirga Protagonist(s): two falconers of King Alfonso X

Two falconers of Alfonso X were hunting with their birds near Vilasirga.

The hunters released the falcons on a riverbank.

The falcons struck some ducks, causing them to fall into the water. The river was partially frozen, and the ducks sank under the ice.

When the falconers saw this, they went out onto the ice to retrieve the ducks.

The ice broke under their weight and they were trapped beneath it. They stayed under the ice for quite a while, praying to the Virgin of Vilasirga.

The ice melted and the hunters escaped. They rode straight to Vilasirga where they praised the Virgin.
