Setting: Santa Maria do Porto Protagonist(s): a crippled girl

A man from Jerez brought his crippled daughter to Santa Maria do Porto.

He held novenas in the church to cure her.

Her feet were so twisted that they were bent backwards completely.

One night, as she lay sleeping, the girl’s feet hurt so badly that she cried out in pain. Her father, lying beside her, asked her why she had cried out.

She explained that the Virgin had broken her feet and then returned to her altar.

Everyone there gathered round and examined her feet. They found them perfectly healed and began to bless the Virgin.
