Some pilgrims lodged at an inn. While they were absent, the landlady stole some meal from their supplies and made fritters. She tried to eat a fritter, but her knife pierced her jaw. Doctors could not extract the knife. When the woman went to Rocamadour and confessed the theft, a priest was able to remove it. News of the miracle spread and all gave thanks to the Virgin. |
