Setting: Seville Protagonist(s): Bonamic, a scribe of the King [Alfonso X]

Bonamic, a scribe of the king, had a horse that lay dying.

He was very upset.

He vowed that if Santa Maria do Porto would cure his horse, he would give her a wax one.

The horse seemed to be dead and beyond hope.

The Virgin, however, caused it to recover.

The horse got up right away and ate a lot of barley.
