The provocative commentary is directed to the presence of symbol and metaphor in the CSM (especially nos. 20, 40, 60, 100, 280, 340, and 384) and to allegorical parable (103 and 128), symbolic gestures (24 and 56), examples of moralizing in refrains (3 and 4), and examples of universalizing (8, 13, and 16)."
