A woman, named Gondianda, was stricken with St Martial’s fire.

The disease damaged her face so badly that she covered it with a veil.

She prayed to the Virgin to cure her.

The Virgin restored the flesh that had been eaten away.

Her face became smooth and returned to its natural colour.

Everyone, weeping, praised the Virgin.
