Title: Osservazioni sulle Cantigas di Alfonso X e sui Miracles di Gautier de Coincy
Date: 1934
Publication details: Archivum Romanicum 18 (1934): 495-540.
Snow ID:
Commentary: Snow 1977, no. 154: "Direct textual comparison of the CSM and MS Pal. Lat. 1969 of Gautier's Miracles de Nostre Dame which convincingly demonstrates that in both content and formal expression Alfonso knew his French predecessor's work better than Valmar first thought (1889). Other sources available to Alfonso are also considered by M. but none comes close, numerically speaking, to Gautier's work. Fullest comments are given to cantigas 6, 8, 15, 28, 51, 54, 65, 33, and 56. Less space is given over to cantigas 4, 5, 7, 11, 13-14, 16-17, 24-6, 32, 34-7, 42, 45-7, 53, 58, 61, 66-8, 71, 81, 105, 115, 132, 255, 285 and 362."
