Snow 1977, no. 154: "Direct textual comparison of the CSM and MS Pal. Lat. 1969 of Gautier's Miracles de Nostre Dame which convincingly demonstrates that in both content and formal expression Alfonso knew his French predecessor's work better than Valmar first thought (1889). Other sources available to Alfonso are also considered by M. but none comes close, numerically speaking, to Gautier's work.
