Snow 2007: "One section of this study of the medieval planctus' reflections in Galician literature turns on the CSM (pp. 590-93; pp. 87-90 in the rpt.) but is limited to little more than a catalogue of the customary physical expressions of grief at the death of a loved one. The following CSM are part of this interwoven theme of sorrow: 4, 65, 347, 134, 345, 143, 213, 106, 122, 43, 305, 323, 331, 146, 241, 197, 221, 381, 21, 6, and 311. Four death scenes are pictured (the quality is poor): cantigas 41, 65, 152, and 188. More follow-up work needs to be done in this area of CSM studies." |
